One of the oldest houses in the World Heritage City of Kandy, this house is beautifully located at the edge of the lake and it is tastefully decorated in keeping with the old architecture of the house.It is only a fifteen minute pleasant walk around the lake from the heart of the Kandy town but one feels the tranquility of nature upon entering the beautiful garden of ‘Shangri-La'. The Legendry valley and the surrounding forest covered hills add to the serenity of the premises. The Temple of the tooth, The Cultural Centre for Kandyan Dance and Kandyan Art, and Museums are within close proximity to the Home. From the terrace, guests can enjoy the beautifully landscaped garden and delight in watching a variety of birds that visit the lake.

Very clean and spacious rooms tastefully decorated in keeping with the old architecture and its antique furniture.

Each room has a unique flavor even if they are with same facilities like attached toilets and hot water. There is variety in how the rooms are furnished and the selection of interior décor.

Guests can have a choice of rooms according to their taste and price range. The Standard rooms are priced economically.
